This text has evolved from a new curriculum in scientific computing that was developed to teach undergraduate science and engineering students the use of high-performance computing systems (supercomputers) in scientific and engineering applications.
An Introduction to High-Performance Scientific Computing assumes a basic knowledge of numerical computation and proficiency in Fortran or C programming and can be used in any science, computer science, applied mathematics, or engineering department or by practising scientists and engineers, especially those associated with any of the national laboratories or supercomputer centres.
KEY FEATURES
• Shows how to implement several numerical algorithms efficiently on a wide range of high-performance computers, including pipelined workstations, vector processors, SIMD distributed-memory computers, and MIMD distributed memory computers.
• Serves as a hands-on practical course in large-scale scientific and engineering computation.
